Welcome To Flotilla 25-5 Alexandria, VAAbout the US Coast Guard AuxiliaryThe U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary was created by an act of Congress in 1939 to promote boating safety and support the Coast Guard in its duties related to safety on our Nation's waterways. The Auxiliary is the civilian arm of the Coast Guard with over 30,000 trained volunteers dedicating their skills and enthusiasm to boating safety, search and rescue, public education, vessel safety checks, and supporting the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement activities. Flotilla 25-5Flotilla 25-5 is based in Alexandria Virginia and serves the public and the Coast Guard along the Potomac River and around the Nation's Capital areas. We are very active in public education, vessel safety checks, watchstanding, and in direct support to Coast Guard Station Washington. Flotilla Meetings:Our next meeting will be September 8, 2011. Flotilla 25-5 meets the second Thursday of every month. Meetings begin at 7:30 PM and are held at USCG Station (TISCOM) 7323 Telegraph Road, Alexandria. Visitors are always welcomed. We invite those who are interested in learning more about the Coast Guard Auxiliary to contact our Flotilla Staff Officer for Personnel Services, JC Caianiello for more information. |
